Dream card. Don't want the two headed rookie. THAT is the card for me. And there it is, in PSA 10.
So, bonus either all goes to this card, or, pay amex off, car off, bosley, extra on mortgage and other expenses, and buy cool full box of something. DAMN decisions.
It is a beauty. But for that price I would think it should be perfect.
What do you guys think about the "bleeding" on the bottom of the card ... the brown from the dirt is in the thin border above the black line. That area is supposed to be solid white.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
Doug, I am no expert on 1969's but I must say that is a fine card in my eyes. I have graded a ton of cards with PSA and we all know how difficult it is to get a PSA 10. This card displays all of the things I would consider a perfect card. The bleeding on the bottom of the card was something I never noticed until you pointed it out. Not sure if I was in the market for this card that I would be swayed away from pulling the trigger.
Looking for high grade rookie cards and unopened boxes/cases
Having handled 10s of thousands of '69 Topps and graded a few thousand, that is a very nice card. Would love to own it but not for that coin. That's a card that's reasonably affordable in PSA 9.
Shane ... when I first looked at the card I did not notice it. Then I pulled up another one and saw that area. When they are side by side that actually bothered me a bit. If it were a $100.00 card and looked as nice as it does I think I wouldn't care. But for TWENTY GRAND+?

Wow, that is so sweet. But I am shocked at how high it has gotten. Can't imagine spending that for that card.
I agree with the other person who said they'd prefer to own this card over his 1968. I much prefer this card as well. I despise the 1968 set as a whole

Is it just me, or is it normal for 1969 cards to not be "square"? The left border is cut an angle other than 90 degrees and flares top to bottom. The right border is however straight, so it is not a very mild diamond cut. I've seen lots of funny cuts on 64s for example, so it might well be common to the issue, but on a $15k+++ card?
<< <i>Looks like the person who bought it for $20k last October via Mile High is trying to get their money back! >>
Will be interesting to see if the ebay bidding format enables this person to reach that level or even make a profit. At $15,500 with almost 2 days left..
Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
It does bother me a bit that PWCC enhances the cards they sell with a boost in saturation of color and sharpening. This card in that holder would sell big regardless, I wish the scan would be an accurate representation.
It's possible something unexpected came up and he needed the money!

<< <i>Sorry to hear that for the seller. Would be interested to hear why the collector sold only one year after the purchase. >>
I doubt the seller is in too bad of a situation. I mean, they bought a card for more than what my new car cost. Just drops in the bucket to peeps like that.

<< <i>Only 2 hours left and still ONLY at $15k.
Predictions for where this one will land? >>
17,500
<< <i>Originally bought for $20,100.29 from Mile High Card Co on 10/25/12 .
Sold for $16,019.44 minus $1,121.36 (7% for PWCC) = $14,898.08 for a net of:
-$5,202.21
Whats the point of buying the card and selling it 3 months later and a loss of 25%
<< <i>Sorry to hear that for the seller. Would be interested to hear why the collector sold only one year after the purchase. >>
Or 3 months
Either way you should never buy high end cards like this and try and put them back out on the market just three months later. Terrible idea.
I think I recall seeing this sale posted in the Beckett Sports Card monthly magazine under auction watch.
