Unattractive 'vomitorium' toning on both coins. Wonder if they smell how they look?

I can't say positive fake on the Barber but yes it looks off to me also.

The Quarter looks legit - although I need to see the reverse in hand as there are parallel lines
running thru the left wing [ facing ] and the images look raised - as if a die was scratched... so,
I'm not 100% sure. The look of the designs and devices are good. Logotype is also good.

The Large Cent looks too porus - and I would stay away from that.

Nothing compares to that POS 13-S Quarter from the other Thread !!

    Barber looks ugly but legit.

Copper looks cast....note the raised bumps near the stars at 1-2:00

on the Barber I'm looking at weak(?) denticles from 3-5
    and
angled(?) denticles from 7 to 8

  • I agree with the OP. The Barber looks like it was struck in VF. The large cent is either deeply corroded or (more likely) a cast fake).

The Barber I am 99.99% sure as being authentic - one of the most common dates of the series. All the diagnostics seem to check as well .. The toning looks secondary (retoned) to me .. Looks like something he pulled from a $1000 F.V. bag of 90%

I know not enough to comment on copper
