Gee, I didn't really miss much...

Right . . .
I go on vacation and all heck breaks loose. Thankfully, a few solid members saved and forwarded some screenshots of the "lost episodes" and I checked in when I could. All I can say is, I'm not surprised. I'm not surprised by those involved and I'm not surprised by how some accept, some condemn and some are apologists.
It is a great hobby, but unless you're willing to KNOW that there is bad out there and you're willing to do your due diligence, these things will happen. It is better to pass on something that seems too good, no matter who vouches for it/them or what their reason is for offering a "deal," if you cannot do the research to ensure that EVERYTHING is on the up and up.
You can NEVER completely eliminate the opportunity of being taken advantage of, but you can greatly minimize the occurrence. The messages regularly posted on these boards (deleted, modified or left in their entirety) should bear this fact out. No one is infallible and no one should be considered unquestionable.
Of course, your mileage may vary...

Call me self-righteous (assuming that is what you intended to type), sanctimoniousness, pompous . . . call me whatever you like, but I suggest others heed the tenor of the message.

what I learned on my last trip to Vegas was that if you dont come back with a story to tell, nothing happened.

Lord, ain't that the truth. I had something pretty big hobbywise happen to me this weekend. In the past, I would have loved to have shared it with the board. Now, I think I will just keep my mouth shut. Don't want to have anyone ruin it for me. Sad.

I am currently on the road to self richeous. Once I reach the end it will truly be a rags to richeous story!
