Seeing that card I just wanted to add that I just bought tickets (taking my youngest daughter) to see him,and the Oiler's play against the Blackhawk's next month at the United Center.I am looking forward to see his talent in person.
Who the hell is spending this kind of money on this stuff??? Why don't they spend it on proven cards/players? Geez. That card can do nothing but decrease in value.
You could buy a PSA 10 Jordan and have $5-6K left over to buy a high grade PSA Gretzky RC. Reminds me of the genius who dropped all that money on the Jeremy Lin card last year. How did that work out? I guess if you've got the money more power to you, but I am in the group who would rather have the RC of the HOF or the GOAT and not the flavor of the week.
Hockey Player Collectors can be crazy. I pulled one of his Cup rookies /99 and got 2500 for it on the spot. In Canada hockey is king and some will pay a king's ransom for their cards. What is the difference between someone paying this and someone paying $45000 plus for a Fleer Retro green parallel jordan /10 this year.

Not much difference at all! I just hope they are collectors and not investors.
These auctions always blow my mind. Thanks for linking it to the board.
I have never heard of the cat but more power to the hobby! BTW, I am the guy who still cant figure out by an 89 Score Troy Aikman PSA 9 rookie is $25 card yet every rookie QB auto card in the draft will fetch more.
Nugent isn't even close to the next coming. He was drafted #1, but he was only billed as a kid who did everything right. He does not have extra special tools, and he lead a strong Canadian team that got destroyed by TEAM USA 5-1 in Russia this year at the WORLD JUNIOR TOURNAMENT.

To think you could have bought a Jordan rookie for less than .50 the year it came out!
