"My friends who see my collection sometimes ask what something costs. I tell them and they are in awe at my stupidity." (Baccaruda, 12/03).I find it hard to believe that he (Trump) rushed to some hotel to meet girls of loose morals, although ours are undoubtedly the best in the world. Plenty of restaurants across the street, much better deal than the convention center food. Be sure to check out the event schedule and the exhibits. PCGS is offering a $200 grading class on Saturday. Some other clubs have meetings and/or free seminars. The Long Beach Coin club has a table. For kids, there is almost always a Saturday give-away and/or treasure hunt.
thank you RedTiger. I think I'll be able to make it on Thursday. If I sign up for a PCGS membership there will I get in for free? Would I get same day grading with free submissions with a membership?

Can anyone tell me if the long beach show is a good place to sell some coins (non dealer). I have some pcgs graded age $5 and looking to move them out for some other coins I would rather have. All nice examples. Just curious, thanks!

Although I will be a dealer at this upcoming show... I've attended the show for many years as a collector. Based on my experience, you may find it difficult to get the full retail value out of your coins in selling to dealers as many dealers there will know what the coins sell for on the market and will have to buy them from you for less in order to make a profit when they later resell the coins. But on items like bullion, the spreads between what a dealer buys for and what they sell for is typically less than it would be for other numismatic items so it still might be worth your time. When you figure that you have the opportunity to sell those coins to a few hundred dealers all in the same room and not have to pay any shipping costs and not have to worry about whether the buyer's money is good (provided you're dealing with cash or a known dealer), then it may be better for you to sell to a dealer for a little less than retail than to try to sell it for more yourself to another collector. Also, if you're looking to buy other coins you just might find those at the show. In that case, many dealers would be open to working out a trade of your bullion for the coins you want and that could work out well for both of you.
