Southern Gold Type Set

I'm working on building a small "virtual" Southern Gold type set using images of my own coins. This particular type set will consist of the following (4) coins:

I am looking for suggestions about the orientation of the coins. I've provided the image above as a starting point. For presentation purposes how does that orientation work? How would you change it? Would you make the coins larger? (Note that they are scaled to the correct sizes, relative to each denomination.)
I still have color correction work and a few other details to perform on the individual coins. This thread is mostly about the coin orientation, but other suggestions are welcomed.
Thanks in advance for your opinions!

Beautiful coins. Personally I have bad eyes so I would like to see bigger images. Others could differ. Either way, nice gold!

I hear you about the size.
Here is what a half eagle and quarter eagle look like at "normal size" when scaled to my computer screen:
These are not very large coins, for sure.
<< <i>larger on top >>
I'm definitely considering that.
Latin American Collection
I like to see both sides of the coins
<< <i>Your quarter eagles are quite nice. From the pictures all appear to be original. What are the grades on them? >>
Thanks, they all definitely have flaws, but they are the best that I can afford at the moment. Larger photos would reveal those flaws.
1838-C, PCGS-Genuine, XF-45 details (stolen in 2009).
1839-D, NGC-Improperly Cleaned, XF details.
1839-O, NGC-XF-45.
1839-C, PCGS-AU details.
I believe I'll increase the size of the pieces (keeping the proper scale), based on feedback I've received so far. I haven't decided whether I'll put the reverses on the same image, or simply a separate image for the reverses. I'll add a nice gold legend and merge some capital holder screws into the image to add some realism.
Other suggestions and comments welcomed!
Ouch!!
I agree with more coin, less black space.
I'd also consider a non-geometric pattern - something to draw a little interest.
Yeah, I'm still really bummed about the 1838-C. But it lives in my memory through images. The others are now in a safety deposit box.
Thiefs? Rest in &^&^^%#%!!!
<< <i>The sad thing is that I can almost guarantee it went to "Cash for Gold" and got sold as scrap, just like my Dad's 1968 class ring.
That is one of my biggest fears. That the piece was sold for melt value and a piece of American history has vanished!
Question to the board: If I were to add another piece of southern gold to this mini-type set, what should it be? (Budget < $5,000.)
Suggestions?

Really nice looking set. An 1839-D Half Eagle would be a terrific addition. A PCGS XF40 example sold recently at Heritage for within your budgeted amount.

Great minds think alike. I think a 1839-D half eagle would be a nice way to round out the set. I just love the obverse mint marks on these issues.
More suggestions on the photo and its layout welcomed!
