  • It's been so long since the mint produced anything that interests me that they could close and my feelings wouldn't be hurt.

Why doesn't it ever seem to dawn on people that the coins aren't worth anything because it is the intentional debasement of the currency at work?

If they wanted coins to function as currency in circulation, they would. It's a relatively simple matter to declare One Hundred Old Dollars to be equal to One New Dollar, and then the coinage would work just fine.

That would cause considerable consternation amongst the voting public, however. Reality bites.

. And after examination none were found worthy of PCGS MS70RD Any factory that screws up 6 billion times needs new management image

...but of course it's their function to mint coins for the public to spend, not for the collector to collect/invest. image
