Best offers and completed auctions????

I was tracking a 68 Mantle in PSA 8. It was a BIN at $500 with Best Offer. It just sold and said BO was accepted....but does not show the price. Is this the new EBAY on this? We will not see the actual price that it sold for?image

The only way right n ow to see it is if you logg in to ebay.ca, the Canadien version..

That's correct, it was brought up in a thread recently, I can't help but think Ebay thinks we are all idiots and if we see the $500 with a line through it we will hit the BIN at $450 for the next one that gets listed thinking we are saving $50.

good call on the .ca guys

I noticed the same thing less then a week ago.

There was a thread on here that pointed out that if you use I believe it was Ebay with the Canada site you could find it.

I will look for the thread and post it for you.

Nice! Why does Ebay feel the need to hide the amounts? I hope this is something that they are still working on since this is new so I wont have to keep changing the .com to ca everytime I want to see the actual sale price.

    Thanks for the tip.

Can't it eventually also been seen in VCP?

BTW - VCP average is currently $374 and the last sale is showing as 1/3/13

According to someone on the ebay boards that called ebay about it, it's a new policy. image

I believe this policy is geared towards helping/protecting volume sellers. Suppose you are a high volume seller of widget X which you sell for $50 OBO. You'll have some people who need/want it now just BIN for $50. Then you'll encounter the bargain hunter who is looking for the best deal. They might prefer to buy from you as a high volume seller with good feedback, and after researching the closing price of other auctions offer $45 based on that information, instead of paying that same amount to a random seller with little feedback. So a more savy ebayer can look at the seller's history, see they were willing to accept offers as low as $44 in the past, and offer $44 instead of $45. I know I've done this myself on several occasions.
