Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
I purchased it simply to be a pocket piece, one that I could show to friends and anyone else interested in collecting. (The rims are interesting for this series.)
I personally thought it to be a very nice example for the grade.
Yes, I agree. Sometime in the future this coin could make a moderate sized collector happy. As a pocketpiece it will be turned into junk.

Nice VF. As far as carrying it as a pocket piece I don't have nearly the qualms others have voiced. Put it in a "kointain" and show it off to your heart's content.
Just because I'm old doesn't mean I don't love to look at a pretty bust.

This was a very recent new pickup.

I knew it would happen.
Sacrilege!

I'd find a very cheap slick, cleaned or holed one for pocketing...this coin appears too original for that purpose.

I am a moderate-size collector.
Seriously, I probably mis-used the term "pocket piece." More like an educational piece.
What does that mean?
Nice Bustie in the VF range...
The variety, O-117, is the pair of dies used to make that beauty...R-2 is the rarity factor, in this case a common variety.
