Sold a Quarter at Fun, To a board member

I sold one of my nicer seated quarter that was one of my better looking ones.
If it wasn't for the fact it was a great board member i sold it to, I would have never sold the coin.
As a dealer, I have a problem, I like nie coins, and have a tendecy to hold on to them. This drives m wife crazy.
If it wasn't for the fact I knew the person I would still have that much better than average MS coin.
To the new owner enjoy the coin, the other coins were just Ok and I had NO problems letting them go.

PTVETTER is a great guy and we had fun going over his coins.
The coin in question is an 1875 25c PCGS MS-64+
I never bought a plus coin before so it was a totally new experience. LOL.
It is truly a lovely coin for the assigned grade. Totally original but yet not too dark at all.
The other coins were more of the generic variety of which two of them were RAW!!!
By the way, PTVETTER had some really nice coin in his box but I did not need them.
As I joked to him, now his PCGS luncheon was paid for because of my purchases.
I would do business with PTVETTER again and again.
New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
LOL.
Sure they were just ok but lets analyze his thought process.
The first one is a 1937 buffalo nickel graded PCGS/CAC MS-66 and it has beautiful blue cobalt toning. Definitely PQ but not overpriced at $80.
The last two coins are RAW coins but I liked them enough to buy them
first, a 1881-S Morgan $1 raw in Choice to Gem Unc for $60
second a 1894-S $20 Liberty in raw but at least MS-61 to possibly MS-62 for $1900.
Considering that I turned in several raw 1876-S $20 in cleaned circulated condition for $1700 each, I thought that was a nice upgrade.
I can see why a dealer would call these three coins just "0k."
No wonder PTVETTER held onto it for so long
I showed the 1874 with arrows half dollar in a MS64 holder now I have another coin that I have come attached to.
gorgous toning with a underlineing PL ovb surface.
I only sold the qtr because I know it will have a nice home.

It's always nice to know it's going to a good home... Yet remember it's just a coin not a puppy!
