display table/case/shelf for sets in binders

I have a few sets in binders that I would like to display in my baseball room. Anybody have any suggestions on how they display things like this ?
I cannot hit curveball. Straightball I hit it very much. Curveball, bats are afraid.

  • How about some small podiums, one for each binder, maybe 4 ft. tall.

Depending on how many you have, you could go with a basic set-up like this. It's clean. Just a basic shelving unit from Ikea (that I had to paint because it only came in natural wood color). The hardest part was finding a shelving unit that had shelves deep enough and tall enough to work. This ended up being a perfect fit. I added the four white wood columns (two in front and two in back) for support. Otherwise your shelving will begin to sag and look sad.

If it's literally just a few, and you'd like to display the cards, you could consider buying book easels, which would allow you to show the sets binder-open and easily flip pages.

Please post pics of what you go with.

  • Love the bookshelf idea. Esquire, where did u get those binders and are they in a slip case?

That is a sweet cabinet! Just for discussion sake, I seem to remember that it was best to lay binders flat when storing as opposed to standing them up, does anyone have any evidence to support that claim?

Thanks for the replies guys. I only have 5 sets or so to display, but I want them to be open and able to flip through. I'm collecting one set per decade so most all players will be covered. 54, 63, 76 Topps, 84 Donruss, 93 UD SP. I have the "big" cards from the sets psa graded and other more expensive cards in more protective cases, but the rest will be in the binders. Anyway, I like the podium idea, but I'm not sure where to find them, and would be afraid of them falling. The cabinet Esquire has is sweet, but since I have a lot less sets, I'm going to try to display them so they are open. I'm thinking of ordering a ladder book shelf but I think only 3 of the shelves are wide enough to hold the sets.

Ikea has a book shelf setup that has the capability of leaning the shelves on an angle like a magazine display rack. If you laid out 2 open sets per shelve and only used the middle shelves that are easily reached and viewed, that might work out best.

You should consider wooden book stands.
