Who remembers Seitz Coin Cases?

I read somewhere that these were around from the mid 1940's to around 1960, but I may be wrong. Anyone have anymore accurate information?

These two had 1950 to 1955 Proof Sets in them.

Interesting but I have never seen them before. Were the reverse of the coins visible or was it covered by the metallic toned background?

The plastic is clear, both sides are visible. The gold and silver color is the lining of the boxes.

I believe those were popular back in the 1950's and early 1960's. They fell out of favor when the lucite coin holders (such as Capital) were introduced.

I have a set of Mint State Roosevelt dimes in them. Here is the first case which contains the early years.

Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

I don't remember seeing new ones - but I've seen a number of proof sets and mint sets housed in them.

I like them because you can see the edges.

I have two of them here, new, in the outer wrappers with tissue paper wrapped around them. They are the No. 20 (Quarter) size. Paul S, Seitz, Numismatist, Glen Rock, PA.

I collect the Wayte Raymond, Oberwise, etc. and ran into these two by accident.

I think I have a few plastic with Canadian coins...I think I also have some other holders made by him with Chinese Cash coins in them, but they're not the same style. I could be dreaming, but I think they're Seitz as well.
