Last hunt of the year......not.

I haven't gotten there yet. My Goal of reaching 35,000 coins is near. Todays short hunt put me at 34,997. I started keeping totals in June 2002 so with over 10 years of stats I was looking back to see when my years ended. I figure a break of 30 days or more constitutes the end of my season.

Conrats Steve!!! Didn't realize others were keeping track! I started 6 years ago and just recording my total at 23,642. If we added our pull tabs and trash we would be off the charts!!! Which makes me wonder? Hows your knees and wrists? Turned 65 and finding out what Arthritis is all about. Probably excessive digging! Don't know that I'll ever get to your total but I'm gonna give it a shot! Happy Digging! Rich

December temp in the 60s!! Took my granddaughter to the park in hopes that number 35,000 would be something good. Dug a clad quarter and dime to get to 34,999 and was waiting for a solid coin signal in the area of some older trees for the next one. Right at the base a tree I got a good hit. I was about to pull my digger out when I saw a Memorial cent in the surface. As I bent to pick it up I noticed it was not alone. A modern coin spill, 6 quarters,2 dimes,4 cents. Good start towards 40,000. Now it raining and cold weather is on the way.

The world didn't end but the metal detecting part of it is over for this year with snow and temps in the 1 digit. Maybe it will warm after the 1st of the year. You never know in Missouri.

About five inches of snow here last night, even more up in the hills just a few miles away - a phone call just told me fourteen inches just seven miles away. Cheers, RickO
