Are mint products like proof AGEs best left in original mint cases?

I have a 2010-W 1/4 proof gold still in the blue box with the COA. Will this fact help carry the coin a small premium or is this coin no more valuable than if it were stacked with other gold? Thanks

Proofs should always be left in mint capsules, even when sending in for grading. Most proof buyers will not pay any premium over the bullion coin for one that is not in original capsule and most want the mint box as well. If storing in a SDB remove the capsuled coin from the box to save space in the SDB. All mint capsuled coins should remain in their capsule. US mint capsules are unique and different from aftermarket "airtite" capsules.

Thanks for the replies, folks. I had a feeling it should be left alone, but didn't know if this thing had any small premium over a regular AGE in a stack.

I agree....keep in mint capsule....proofs are very sensitive to contact and proof buyers want them pristine.... Cheers, RickO
