Special Thanks to Grote15, DCanfield & BBCE

I had been on a quest to complete a full box of 1979 wax trays. I was born in 1974, and 1979, was the first time that I can remember getting baseball cards as a special treat from the corner store. So, I set out on a mission to complete a box of trays. Doug had the empty box, case, and a few packs, Tim had several packs, and BBCE helped out as they always do. I wanted to thank all three of them, and the other along the way who helped me in my quest. It's nice to see that there are people like Doug, Tim, and the team at BBCE still truly care about the hobby.

Many Thanks!!!

Everyone, thanks for the complements. I did hit the triple crown with Tim, Doug and BBCE. Great ambassadors for the hobby, which I believe many of us are here for. The great memories, and developing "pen pals" through the Message Board.

That is sweet! I don't think I have ever seen a completed box before. 1978/79 were my first years collecting as well. Congrats on finishing that's. It's a spectacular display piece.

  • I just returned home from a couple weeks out of the country. Peter, thanks so much for the kind words. I'm glad I (along with Tim and Steve) could help you in completing this project. It's always nice to get the final pieces of the puzzle. Congratulations. Doug

PFB - Sweet! Congrats on finishing up that project! The only thing that looks better than vintage in it's original packaging, is me opening it! Those 77's look very enticing!

    Thanks

  • Abou Ben Adhem (may his tribe increase!)
Awoke one night from a deep dream of peace,
And saw, within the moonlight in his room,
Making it rich, and like a lily in bloom,
An angel writing in a book of gold:—
Exceeding peace had made Ben Adhem bold,
And to the Presence in the room he said
"What writest thou?"—The vision raised its head,
And with a look made of all sweet accord,
Answered "The names of those who love the Lord."
"And is mine one?" said Abou. "Nay, not so,"
Replied the angel. Abou spoke more low,
But cheerly still, and said "I pray thee, then,
Write me as one that loves his fellow men."
