jimmyg - As far as I am concerned, there are NO drawbacks from moving to Alaska. My wife and I did a cruise for our honeymoon and the scenery is breathtaking. I would love to live there........

I was hoping to get my packs today but I did not. I had the urge to rip something so I went to my local card shop and picked up 3 packs of 2012 Gypsy Queen. I ended up with this.......................

Got my packs (cellos from 1978, 80, 81 and 83) today.

The 1981 cello has Mike Schmidt on the back and the 83 has Frank Robinson on top.

Current obsession, all things Topps 1969 - 1972

Got my packs today, no big hits. Got a spectacular 49er QB in one of my 81 packs, but sadly not the right one!!

Nice cards for the most part, a few had pretty bad gum stains however.

    I received my packs today.
I had 2 star packs that will remain unopened for now.
82 topps wax with Gary Carter on the back and a 85 fleer cello with Mike Schmidt on the back.
No real star power at all in my packs until I opened my 2nd 82 donruss pack and seen a Cal Ripken Sr. card and got excited for a second and said why couldnt that have been Jr. and sure enough a couple of cards later he popped up! I don't have my scanner hooked up right now but it's a little of center left to right. I would say safely a Psa 7, maybe 8. Very happy to hit that card.
Thanks again to bbce for all the clean unopened stuff they provide and great service!
And of course to Mark for setting up another great group break! Much appreciated for all your efforts.

I received a box of 81 Donruss and Fleer today. I will hold on opening them until my pending subs post. Good luck to everyone else and thanks for putting this together.

What was the total investment in this bust compared to the last one?

    Thanks,

    David (LD_Ferg)

Recieved my packs in San Antonio this afternoon. No racks/cellos with stars, except an 84 George Brett AS card in the center. Also has Al Cowens on the end stack and a Yaz for the 1983 All-Star Card. Everything else looks real nice, clean cellos and wax! I'm happy. Thanks to Mark & Steve.

OK, so I wrote the post below and started putting my unopened stuff up. I notice an '85 pack has a very slight mark on the corner. Further inspection shows a very small rip or tear. Did I do that? Who knows, but I decide to open it; why not! I hardly ever open this stuff up. This is the exception. So I get half way through and I get a Gary Cartyer AS followed by an Ozzie Smith. Then I see it, card #401, the McGwire USA card! Awesome! Back in the day, I prolly pulled 6-7 of them, but sold them to friends over the years. Now I have a shot at a 10, I think. The centering isn't real nice on any of these, but the surface and the corners look sweet. Good stuff! Now I'm really happy, and I may open some more!

  • Received my packs on Monday. Keeping everything sealed but threw in 4 packs of '89 UD just for fun. First two packs had a Sheffiled in each one, third pack had nothing and the fourth pack had Junior. In 23 years of trying I finally pulled one from a pack. ( I have only opened maybe 20 packs over the years).

    David,

The total $'s for this rip was about $14K although we busted about 105 boxes (that is a record). The two previous rips were $27K and $41K. I believe YTD we have spent about $110K with Steve. Not to bad at all.

I'm not sure who was to the left of Bruce Smith on the 1986 Topps uncut sheets, but whoever it is I'm sure they're pissing their pants...

By the way, nice Steve Young pack!!

Originally wasn't palnning on opening anything but the 98 Bowman Best and Chrome FB. After pulling Manning out of the Chrome(could be a 10, no less than a 9), the bug kinda got me.
So I ended up opening about half.
    81 FB nothing
    84 FB nothing
    85 FB Not opening
86 FB Steve Young - (Probably an 8, centered well)
82 FB cells have machine damage to the top cards, will save for some other time.
The 89 Score is going back into the box I bought in 89', missing 4 more packs to top it off.
    80/81 HK nothing

I will scan the Manning after it comes back from PSA.......

Alright guys. Me and the girls ripped through all of the packs. I have to say, I had a freaking blast. Talk about re-living a little piece of my childhood. Below are the highlights:

Starting off with a couple cards of the Ryan Express
    image

    Mr. Schmidt and Mr. October
    image

A couple classics of Sweetness. The 85 Topps is really sharp. May have an outside shot at a 9.
    image

    Joe Cool and Franco
    image

Couple rookies of Darryl Green and Cris Collinsworth. I know most people don't like Chrs but I love him as an announcer. He is not afraid of speaking the truth
    image

Lastly, rookies of The Iron Man and Mr. Elway. The Ripken is O/C and a small corner ding but the Elway is really nice.
    image

    Overall a great time.

I want to thank Steve for working with us on these breaks. Especially this last one. 105 boxes and most were not high dollar items as well. I am sure they spent a great deal of time sorting, packing and shipping these to everyone.

  • I kept a pack of every older Topps pack unopened and with the rest pulled a few stars and HOF rookies but no Montana,Marino or Elway. I opened both my Finest packs and missed on any refractors but pulled a nice Nolan Ryan witch looked 10 worthy at first glance but noticed some foil PD on the front surface. In the 2001 TT I pulled a Johnny Damon auto.
  • Ripped all mine pretty disappointing all commons in the two 78 cello's, a decent 81 fb walter payton and a nice 86 fb reggie white other than that all commons.
  • This is my first group break and I just wanted to thank BBCE and cincyredlegs for making this happen and making it so easy. I'm new around here and appreciate all of the work. Thank you very much!!!
I received my packs yesterday and opened them this evening.
I got a lot of nothing with the 92 Bowman BB, 89 UD, and most of the 84 Topps BB Rack Packs.
    Below are the highlights...
In addition to 2 packs of 85 Topps BB, I also ordered a full wax box.

I never pulled a Gooden rc when I was a kid and this definitely put a smile on my face. This was in the first pack that I opened in the box.
    image

I then moved to my rack packs and in the last one after not getting anything I pull the three of these in one pack.
    image

Other than the Seaver nothing in my 82 and 83 Donruss. I then move on to the 82 Topps BB
    image
The Henderson was the Wax Card.

Next is the 80 Topps BB and the two best cards from my 84 Topps FB. Also, nothing from my 81 Topps FB
    image

I then goto the 77 Topps BB...I'm actually trying to finish putting a set together that I started when I was a kid and was happy these were available.
When I saw this, I just couldn't believe it. Then, I realized that it was the gum card, although, it's not that bad on the back.
    I think it might get a 9.
    image

Thanks again to everyone for all of their work in making this happen.
  • Orange County California, didn't get mine today. image

I received my package today. I only ordered two packs of the Topps Finest baseball. The only pull was a Griffey Jr. AS. The refractors are still out there!

I got one of those too and it is Pristine and in the closet.

I also added an 81 Topps bb cello box from Black Friday to add to the closet.
I believe they were from a sealed case also.

Of course, I forgot to take it home with me -- so it'll have to wait.
  • Pkg arrived!

Nothing in 10 packs of 89 UD
Nothing in 82 and 83 Donruss
    Nothing in 84 Fleer
    Nothing in 89 Score
    Nothing in 01 Topps Traded

    Game over... Happy f'ing holiday!

  • I just got mine. Orange County CA.
  • Got mine today. Nothing really. Only the 89 Score produced anything worth while. A dion, Thurman Thomas, and Irvin Rookies. All had minor corner dings though image. Had a blast opening them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
