thanks everyone. baley: i have a couple registry sets that are either almost complete or i need one or two more coins to complete. here's a link. i really am tempted to build a complete set of gold type 1 dollars (excluding the 49-c OW, of course). i know a lot of collectors don't like them because of the size, but i really like them a lot...plus there's a lot of southern gold to be had to complete it.

The number of collectors here who have negative things to say about T1 gold dollars has dramatically decreased. Good photography is their best friend. Buy the absolute highest grade pieces you can find, that's the only way the set can be "important".
