Anyone having problems with Tulving????

Was wondering if anyone is having any problem other than me. I purchased 5-100 oz bars on 9-17. There website states that they have 30 day delivery period. Well, now it's 11-1 and no silver. Called and talked with Karen but seem to be getting a runaround.

I'd call an talk to someone up the chain.

That IS the point of contact.

she's gotta have a supervisor, six week wait demands someone higher up than a point of contact.

    How did you pay?

what does "run around" mean? Have you asked for a tracking number?

six weeks and no delivery, they owe you a good explanation - demand it. My purchases with wire transfers always result in 2-3 days of them shipping it out.

  • Personally I'd never consider a 30 day delivery on physical.

I payed via check. There website states that the turnaround time on a pay by check is 30 days. That being said, the 30 days was on the 19th. I called them last week, and was told that it should be going out soon. So...I called back today and was told that they aren't shipping due to the hurricane, and so on. You know, how busy they are and whatnot. Was just looking to see if anyone is experiencing any issues with them. Upon internet reserch, I see that seems to be a reoccuring trend with them. Starting to get alittle concerned about this. I have sold to them in the past and had to call them to find out where my check was, but they promptly took care of it.Looking for some reassurance here.

been involved in three transactions with them, all pretty sizable (one selling to them, two buying from them). All went off flawlessly. Keep us posted, since my future business transactions will be with whichever company does the best insofar as customer service is concerned (I'd rather lose a few cents per ounce than be frustrated)

don't worry. They're probably adding some extra time to checks clearing just to be sure they aren't getting stiffed. Probably ate some checks recently. They've been around a long time and do tens of millions in business.

Use wire transfer in the future if you don't want delays. I always get quick turnaround with wires.

This, but even with a check, you should have product with 2 weeks. It's not brain surgery. Unless they're selling product they dont have and have the hurricane as an excuse now.
I've never done 1 oz with them, and don't plan to just because of cases like this i've heard about. As long as I have local guys to deal with that's the route I take. I just sold a bunch of .999 locally and got Spot for the most part and even a little over on a few pieces...all were just common stuff. If the local thing isn't do-able, consider reaching out to people here, there's some big dealers here.

Don't know how to reassure you other than the fact that Tulving is big and reputable. I (and thousands others) have never had a problem with them. Just might be having a recent shipping snafu or problems with checks clearing by some (not necessarily you) to give them a cushon window.

Bank wires are the way to go with them if you want to cough up the extra $15 or so. It's worth it IMHO, especially with a minimum 20oz Au or 500 oz Ag purchase.

Their premiums are so low for a reason. I would gladly let them keep my money and ship a couple weeks later than the competition for their discount. Unfortunately they don't ship to Canada image

How soon we forget, he did some prison time also for business shenanigans, hope it works out for you. The only reason I don't do bullion business with them is I would never send a dime of my money and wait for them to deliver, it would have to be cash on delivery.

Their raw rare coin business model in the 1980's never impressed me....and I avoided them. Can't recall the details but it just didn't measure up for me.

Fact remains, they've been around a long time and do tens of millions in business.

Also, I'd like the name of the bullion dealers who are letting you order your bullion "cash on delivery."

I've dealt with Tulving many times off & on since about 1996 and they usually ship overnight as soon as they get a wire. I've never had a delay issue with Tulving, but I did have a very worrisome experience with Northwest Territorial Mint a few years ago. I'll never buy from them again.

Given Tulving's past history, I've always wondered when things would head south, probably with no warning. In recent times, his volume seems to have increased, such that he turns up his nose at smaller orders that he would have been happy to have a few years earlier. That's probably normal in the bullion business, especially given the low margins and competitive nature of bullion.

In the bullion business, it always pays to stay current by shopping around the major bullion dealers. I would start getting concerned if the precious metals market began to show signs of weakening or crashing, which would directly impact the bullion dealers' liquidity. Some of them are probably well-hedged and well-financed, but you never know for sure. I think that today's market is pretty healthy, so my perception of the current risk from established dealers is small. I've been pleased about my dealings with both Scotsman and Silvertowne. John Maben also seems to have a well-run shop at Modern Coin Mart. Apmex is another one that will be around for a long time, and their business model is sound in my opinion.

I'd pay some attention to what Jim Sinclair, James Willie and others have to say about the international sovereign gold account issues that continue to surface. Do your diligence before you send money. At some point, it may happen that gold and/or silver just isn't available.
