Wow.....$40 for an XF+/AU 1840's seated quarter is back to mid 1970's pricing. I don't think I ever bought one ever for under $40.
The seller must have graded that as VF. These deals can still be found. In the last 3 years I bought seated halves from local shops as VF that were XF-AU. One was an 1872-s for $60 (worth $350?) and the other an 1840-0 for $85 (worth $175?).

Check the white balance setting and/or just put the camera in auto mode.
Seriously good find for $40 - How'd you get it so cheap? >>
This B/M So cal is going out and they have some good deals now.. But he did not see the RPD and Crazy4Coins ya it's a larg 5 over small 5 or 1845/5. >>
Regardless, $40 is crazy cheap for something of that date and condition.
I'd have an easier time stealing a chicken from a neighbor's yard - I live in a metropolitan area where you can't find any of them - than getting a coin like that for $40. Nice.

Awesome, don't know squat about Seated quarters but now I now to take a closer look if it's dated 1845. Was it difficult to contain yourself? Did you pump your fist and say, "Yeah baby" when you got back into your car? Nice find
Na did it so many times you ask the price, Then pay and put it in your pocket and move on to the next one. But it is fun you can get hooked Cherrypicking fast.
You guys are good!!! Here is the grade.Thank you for playing.

The images are weird. What are you using...a ring light? Color is very odd, as is the halo.
