My 2 newest error coins are going to get married... in a PCGS 2-coin slab

I haven't owned a mated pair for several years and I was looking to buy a nice set. When I saw this 1964 pair come up for sale I had to have them!
Coin #1 is triple struck. The first strike is a broadstrike with obverse brockage. The second and third look like they are a saddle strike, and one mates up with coin #2 which is a large "mushroom" broadstrike with a brockage.
I plan to get them into the new PCGS two coin holder, and from then on they can be a happy "married pair" image.

Will they get the FS designation?

Those 1964 error nickels have a "look" to them that I like and your set shows it well too. They always seem to be very expanded and warped in comparison to more recent nickels.
I wish my set was already in PCGS holders like yours are, it would make getting them into the 2-coin slab easier. Mine are in NGC holders both graded MS65.

I'm thinking probably not because the steps don't look all that well struck to me, but I am not really experienced in that area.

Exactly, I have quite a few awesome 64 errors.
  • I can't think of a better use for the two-coin holder. Those are cool!
Let's try not to get upset.
  • Great looking set, and I really like how one of the coins is a saddle-strike. There are some amazing-looking mated pairs on 1964 nickels.
