Looks unspoiled. Maybe undergraded. What do you think?

That's a nice one. Great date. I like it at it's current grade.

Great, original look, and freedom from major distractions. The few scattered darker spots of 19th century crud, while perhaps unappealing to a novice, certify its truly grimy originality. My XF-AU Bust and Seated collection is based upon acquiring coins with this look.

I agree that it is undergraded. A solid AU50 to me.
Very nice look to this one, and a tough date in this condition. image

Looks like it needs a trip back to Newport Beach for a regrade and a edge view holder.

I bet PCGS called it XF45... and I'd have to say I agree.

The coin is very, very nice (much nicer than mine!) but I can't venture to say it's AU.

But man, that baby sure has some original skin!!! image

I agree, very nice look to that coin. Who wouldn't like to own that.

Now THIS is a very nice example of a tougher date. I hereby give this piece the stman approved status. (yeah I know that won't buy you a cup of coffee.)

I missed the part where a grade was supplied....I think image

Anyway, I'd want it in a 45 slab ideally...even if it is AU.

Yes, it is in a 45 slab. Probably where it belongs. I wouldn't argue with a 50.

I hoped originality might help it along. But it PCGS loves luster and maybe that held it back.
    Lance.
