you are welcome and my thanks goes to a few people that have done a lot of leg-work to allow me to obtain and share this information to help thwart the efforts of those seeking to create chaos.

Since this thread bubbled up, I'll contribute:

Here's one of my early collecting mistakes. Thanks to eBay and PCGS and a little luck, I got my money back. Luckily the coin was/is in a user's private registry who wouldn't let the cert number go since they still owned the REAL coin. Otherwise I might not have figured out it was a fake until much later, at which time I might not have recourse.

the answer to that inquiry is always and unequivocally YES!

i really like having the ability to image this type of stuff since i take pretty darn good images for study and sharing when the opportunity to image this stuff comes along.

i've asked coin shops to borrow/search their counterfeit boxes but that has not led anywhere. maybe it is in their best interest their customers aren't aware/educated?

if you hit "quote" you can cut and paste the code with the certs linked and everything.

another batch coming shortly. I hit the motherlode(25) on one.... interesting store name, too "ProfessionalCoinGradingService" w/ some duplicates you have. There is a "PCGS" store name, too. only a few in that one (4).

***Note on the pictures... it seems alisuxpress saves each picture file in separate folders. The result is the obverse photo and the reverse photo have the same file names. I have been saving the obverse as "1" on the end and reverse as "2" on the end.

i haven't had problems with snaggin imgages with same file names but i probably do it a little differently than you. i use ctrl+left mouse click to open the main page images to the single page listing. then click the single page listing image and drag/drop to my folder from there. it sounds like a long process but it goes quick when you multi-tab.

i have had problems with ebay however. i'm having to do what you mentioned to get those images.

back on-topic. i knew several ways to get the links, i was just lazy the other night and figure i'd update them later. i guess later is today

here are images for each the raw and certified images from those junk sites so you can see what they look like from my end when i'm snaggin.

just in case i'm not the only one that missed this great feature. the bottom right of this white typing box area (when your are typing your post) has the ability to be expanded, essential for editing OP like this thread has unless you want to copy paste everything back n forth to notepad or the like. no need to copy paste now! only took 2+years to figure it out lol. either that or i forgot along the way.

Bought a counterfeit 1923-S Peace Dollar PCGS MS65 #15583894 off an Ebay auction in May-found out it was a counterfeit holder with verifiable cert number when it was sent in for re-grade in July. Coin inside was estimated in MS63 range.

Here's another. Not sure if it's the same fake, or a different one.

They both look better than a lot of the fakes I've seen, and the barcode is legit on both.

Can any of the local Peace experts point out what's wrong with either?

the person that uploaded those is very easy to work with from my experience.

the process to get the images from flicker was really labor intensive for the drag n drop method i usually use, so i stopped snaggin' those images. maybe that person will just send you a whole file if you tell him what you are trying to accomplish?

if he doesn't agree or doesn't have them, let me know if you have trouble getting the images and i'll send you a video of how i did it to see if it works sufficiently for you.

either way, keep up the good work. hope you can keep it up as i found downloading those images page after page is exhausting and mind-numbingly boring.

too bad we don't have about 10 people that could split up the work load for all of this. we'd knock all of it out in a week!

oh, the op has been fully updated.

i've started a filtering system for all the images i have of counterfeit holders.

1. for certs added to this thread
2. a sub-folder for the pics linked in this thread.

the top-level of that folder has a huge amount of images that just get sifted down each level until they reach the bottom which means they've been added here and pic added. seems to be the simplest way to filter massive amounts of data. at least from what i've found.

i've also thought about the negative effects from doing this as well.

one that is obvious: people see just how many (qty) and types there are and figure the tpg slabs were a safe zone, which is far from the truth.
