silver or gold bars on eBay most liklely are fakes or fantassy pieces produced in the US...

to be marked on bars? Is it really easy to refine to .999. Germany at that time
was using .800 on most items and a bit better on coins. Just wondering aloud.

Good question...but these bars are so obvious fake, it's actually hilarious. They copied the WWII Mauser Rifle Hallmarks and used them on the bars.

Also, all the numbers and letters could be duplicated with a punch set. Very amateurish. I wouldn't even trust that it's silver. Has anyone notified eBay that it's a fake bar?

Yes. I also informed the seller of this thread alleging their fraud by the op.
