Very Cool PCGS Double Struck 2009 Sacagawea Dollar Error

I just recently got this very cool coin in. It is a 2009 double struck Sacagawea dollar which is extremely rare. There are not very many double struck coins since 2002 when the mint really started cracking down on error coins that get out, they virtually put a stop to major error coins being released.

I love the Sacagawea design, and the Native American reverse makes this even more special.

The thing that I do not understand is WHY, PCGS made the Missing Edge Lettering Error the header and not DOUBLE STRUCK ERROR. Very odd. I could care less about MEL coins. This one is MEL Because of the double strike which made the coin slightly Broadstruck (larger) thus not allowing it to fit in the edge lettering machine.

This new addition to my collection is currently one of my favorites.

Congrats on a cool score, I really like the look of that and the letters are amazing. I remember going thru boxes of these from the mint, just went and looked and have 2 rolls of those(2009) that are really toning Wild on the ends, think its storage in the roll top desk. Enjoy

Yeah it doesn't make any sense unless the submitter (not I) requested it.

The Double Strike Error far way outweighs the other two errors.
