OT...my wife needs prayers........

I will be gone most of today. Taking my sweetheart(wife) to have a liver biopsy. She has had Hep C for a long time and has gone thru the shots twice and almost got cured, but not 100%. They check the liver every so often. There is a a new series of shots that has over a 95% cure rate so she may be going thru the shots again. Hope she is cured this time. They are not fun. A shot in the stomach 3 times a week for a year and a half.

    Good luck and best wishes. Sounds like there is a good chance for a cure which is good news so try to be optimistic and just remember that you have a lot of friends here.

    Awww, I'm sorry to hear she has to go through this but I will keep you both in my prayers and hope all will be well in the end. It's very good to know there is such a high percentage cure.

    Bless you and your wife. I had liver transplant several years ago. It all worked out, hopefully for her it doesn't come to that, but if it does there is life after transplant. It is better then dealing with the extensive pain. Quality of Life can be way better after a transplant as long as you can deal with taking pills.

    My brother had Hep C, took interferon shots and has been free of the virus for 12 years now. I hope this series of shots works out for her.

    My wife and I want to thank all of you so very much for all of your prayers and kind words. We just got home. It was a long day as they were 3 hours behind, so she had to lay and wait that much longer. We go to see the Hep C specialist next Tuesday to see the results and where we go from here.

    DIMEMAN, this hits close to home and I have nothing but best wishes for you and yours!

    I couldn't imagine 3 shots a week in the abdomen for 1-1/2 years! But I do hope that it is the cure!!

    I've had to take anti-hepatitis virus shots for Hep-C and Hep-A and I have to take them every three years. No liver biopsy yet, but I am vulnerable, so I can appreciate what the Mrs. is dealing with. Keep the Faith!
