Nice card-- strong centering and eye appeal. Def want to find one as centered anywhere from PSA 5-8 one day. Baseball card collection's gotta have a 61 Maris!
Sidenote: sorry to read the thread from the top and see it degenerate into such nasty sandbox trash talk on both sides. It's too easy to let tempers flare and throw basic civility out the window within the anonymity of the internet, but let's stay positive, homies. In my humble opinion collections should never compete, despite how The Registry tries to foster a competitive climate among collectors who all love the same thing (I did it once, but not anymore). Sure, there is an inherent adversarial component to bidding and acquiring items that are rare and in finite supply, but for me that is the only instance in collecting these days that could be called competitive. After that, it should be all about the shared enthusiasm for sportscards/sports/sports memorabilia. I used to get into way too many brawls when I was younger, and as someone who can be hot-tempered I learned early on that on the internet people can just beef and beef and beef ad infinitum, and it only gets one angrier because there is no way to bring it to a head and end it like one can in person. So what I do online is just not take the bait and never get caught up beefing with someone in a non-face-to-face forum. I have found this way helps stay mellow. Anyways just one guy's perspective if it helps anyone avoid online beef and the resulting heartburn.

my life is great foo you are the one that got all angry I just voiced a opinion and thats it and you flew in to some major road rage over it. but I dont want to make enemys on this board I love the hobby and like this board. Look FOO I am sorry ok if I pissed you off lets just call a truce and move on. If you are happy with the card than you made a good buy
Foo, Nice card. As to the print snow..........On 61's the snow will be magnified 10 fold with a scanner. Anyone with high end 61's knows this. I have Mantle's that do not look nearly as nice when they are scanned.
The closer I look at the Maris...........that is a beauty with great centering and strong corners.

Hiya Marc
I think your card is superb and I'm happy to see you got your 'whale.'
I've got a few "whales" for my 63F set - time will tell.
Good show!

Yep.......kill 2 birds with 1 stone.
Foo, awesome card. thanks for sharing.

My thoughts exactly. I don't even like starting threads trying to educate people anymore for that very reason.
<< <i>Note: Not sure why my scanner didn't pick up on the "1's" for 1961 on the label but this scanner acts funny sometimes. >>
Try scanning the Maris card with the dust removal feature turned off.
Seriously though, well said. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and if the man who bought the card is happy with the card, that is all that matters.
I'll just say that I would love to have it in my collection. Nice puck up Foo.
