Quote: "card needs work", What does that mean?

I was at a show yesterday and the above quote was used during an evaluation (of the corners/ surface) to determine the ungraded cards condition if graded... What does this mean and how would this be conducted...

It means it could be massaged/doctored by someone expert in paper to improve its condition. There are ways, Dude. Trust me. You want a toe, I'll get you a toe. By 3 o'clock.

    With nail polish.
  • I didn't watch my buddies die face down in the muck so appraisers at card shows could drop hints to their customers about vintage card doctoring!

Nice, Walter. I knew someone would get the reference-- and then I saw you had posted earlier in the thread! Subconsciously seeing your avatar while reading the thread must have put the idea in my head, lol.
