Platinum creeping up on gold

Platinum $1681, gold $1779. Spread is $98.

A few months ago gold was beating platinum by $200. However, it is more typical for platinum to trade higher than gold. Perhaps it will again before too long.

    You have a short memory..I believe Plat beat gold earlier this year (April or May), although it was only for a brief moment.

    You have a short memory..I believe Plat beat gold earlier this year (April or May), although it was only for a brief moment. >>


    The only time this year that platinum closed above gold was March 13 through 19. In early January gold was beating platinum by about $200. From late July to mid-August gold was again beating platinum by over $200. The spread has narrowed since then.
