Collectorama Coin and Currency Show - Oct. 5-7 - Lakeland, FL

The 53rd Semi-Annual Lakeland, Florida Collectorama Coin and Currency Show will be held October 5-7, 2012 at the Lakeland Center, 701 West Lime Street, just west of downtown Lakeland. 100-125 dealers will be on hand to Buy, Sell and Trade a wide variety of better numismatic material, bullion Gold, Silver and Platinum, Proof and Mint Sets, Modern Commemorative coinage, Silver and Gold Eagles, Certified Coins and Currency, and a nice variety of neat non-numismatic Collectibles, Antiques and Paper Americana. The show will be open to guests on Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday from 10 A.M. to 4 p.m. There is a $3.00 (Good for the Weekend) admission charge, but bring a copy of this notice and received Free Admission. The Collectorama Show “buys” the parking lot and simply mention The Collectorama Show to the parking lot attendants for Free Parking. All youngsters, 12 or under, receive a daily dip into the Kid’s Bucket for a Free Hand Full of Money. Dealers and quests are urged to bring along some “numismatic goodies” for the kids. Larger material such as books, folders, albums and supplies will also be distributed to the youngsters. A full service hobby supply dealer will also be available. There are free hourly door prizes, and ICG Grading Service will be on hand for free verbal opinions, and to accept grading submissions. The Collectorama Show website (www.wix.com/coinshows/collectorama) has additional show information available and also a Free Admission pass that can be printed. The host hotel is The Terrace Hotel (863-688-0800), which has a five-star restaurant, and is just a short walk to the wonderful Lake Morton Bird Sanctuary where thousands of wild birds can be seen with a very enjoyable walk around the lake. Thursdays are dealer setup and Special Bourse (4 to 8 p.m.) and non-tabled dealers gain entry with a $25.00 (minimum) donation, via company check, to the Florida Youth Villa.     This show is fun because there are other hobbies there. Some of them, like the postcard vendors, have coin related items like this card which was urging support for the 1915 Panama - Pacific Exposition.

    Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
