Help needed with specifics on San Francisco mint bar.

My local dealer called me today and told me he just got in a unique silver bar.
I know that they poured bars in various styles over the years at the San Francisco mint but I have to admit I'm not to savvy on these.
This particular has great eye appeal and a nice subtle golden tone..
Can anyone help me with specifics and value?
Thanks
Also the bar has a number on the edge, 178
I've seen them with the purity at .9995 but never at .99975
Thoughts?

This bar was produced in the late 1800's. The 217 indicates the lot number, also commonly referred to as the receipt or serial number. The 178 represents the production number within that particular lot of bars in this case of course bar #178 produced in lot #217. Not uncommon for a bar to be stamped 999.75.
I won't bore you further details on US Assay services to the public... could put you to sleep.
Would imagine this example to bring 2-3k at auction.
dolomite's post is self explanatory.
I have done a bit of research after my OP and dug up similar information. It is my understanding that you could take delivery of these bars from the mint in the past instead of coin... how cool.
OPA, I said that I wasn't to savvy on this type of bar but when it was right there in front of me I knew that I couldn't let it escape.
I am the current owner now
