Thought I would share a nice Egyptian relic that I acquired about a year back. I got it out the other day and it made me think of Tim Buck and his forum avatars the black cat and Space Kitty he used to post with early in his forum career.
I acquired this from a Latin teacher where I work. He used to be an archaeologist and traveled the world in his younger days
He dug this quartz stone seal in 1967 at a site near Per-Bast(Bubastis).
It is a crystal seal stone of the cat goddess Bast (or Bastet) and dates to Old Kingdom- Circa 2300 BC-1700 BC.
The seal shows Bastet in her human form holding the WAS scepter of divine power and the HET symbol of eternity.
HH everyone!
