So, what drives these poor national decisions?

<< <i>The logical thing to do is Vote for Romney thus dumping Obama.

Since the logical thing to do during 1775-1789 was to create a republic that was different from all others to date, and that republic was salvaged (logical thing to do) from the ashes of the civil war with the help of an detrmined president (which cleansed us from another evil), it is apparent that the current man is not of the same republic preserving nature, therefore the most logical thing that must be done for the sake of logic alone is to dump him. Just as logic overwhelmingly prescribed the dumping of King George and Slavery, logic now demands the dumping of Hussein.

If there are some that want to beleive their Great great great......... grandfather was a monkey or a tad pole then thats their right under our republic, But let us all logically agree that the republic must be preserved and must choose one that will most likely move to strengthen and preserve that republic. If we don't, God Please Help Us.

P.S. Spock would most logically Vote the Romney ticket image >>

Demographics most likely will prove that whomever is President next will be a failure. >>

If he appoints Hawkish fed governors, Conservative Supreme court justices, Cleans house of the filth of appointees this current destroyer has put in charge of our federal agencies and Speaks and Indeed takes consistent action upholding the ideals of the American Republic, we will have a very succesful President. We believe Romney will fulfill that formula and therefore be successful even if the Country continues to tank into the quagmire of financial fiatism.

It really depends on the definition of failure, and those demographics you mention do present a very debilitating drag upon the long term survival of this Republic. If true leadership were restored for three or more consecutive terms those demographics could potentially be turned into a strength.

raise interest rates, endure the pain - it will end quicker. Volcker proved it.

Also need to take the selected banks off of life support so everyone else can survive. There's plenty of other banks and credit unions.

"Interest rates, the price of money, are the most important market. And, perversely, they’re the market that’s most manipulated by the Fed." - Doug Casey

I'm watching Ken Burn's "The West" on netflix for balance.

Makes all this modern day woes seem rather mundane compare to their gold rush, safety, harsh living conditions, constantly changing boarders, murder, and state of their government motives back then. The national goals seemed fairly brutal and no different that Rome expanding and taking over its empire. In comparison, we don't take over as much anymore; we do it through influence.

The national state is a dynamic cycle, and expecting some steady state goal of perfection (with people involved) seems elusive. I may be getting a bit more myopic in my last decades but I think its up to me keep aware and to make the wisest decisions for my existence and future regardless of external condition at any one point in time.

I wonder what the gold buying power was back in the gold rush days, compared to now?

They do it because they can get away with it, for now. It is sort of like an elephant that keeps growing, as it gets bigger it wants more and more, until the day comes it can no longer stand.

I have also done some stupid things, but I have learned from my mistakes. Romney is the type of quality individual whom also learns his lessons.

The current man is intent on fundamentaly transforming this Republic into a third world country, please do not allow that to happen.

And Hussein's reads like the Leftist socialist republic for which we stand: Top 3, University of California, Microsoft and Google Hussein's contributers....

It's really quite simple. Freud diddled his sister in law in 1899 and his intellectualization was
misunderstood as "science" and the cancerous growth of the concept people aren't responsible
for their outcomes or their actions. This has led to to massive failures in education and other vital
institutions. The massive wealth generated through the increase in productiovity was wasted by
undereducated managers and stolebn by those given free reign over the economuc system by a
Congress open to the highest bidder.

Of course this doesn't consider the millions murdered in the 20th century by evil giants like stalin
and hitler. It doesn't consider the erosion in everything except the ability to adapt new technol-
ogy to military applications. Even the few good things that have arisen since 1899 were outgrowths
of the things that have gone so horribly wrong.

Until people get rid of the concept that some unidentifiable and irresponsible "subconscious" drives
their actions look for further deterioration in the value of human life and the meaning of freedom.

The ghuman race has never been so superstitious as it is today. With the schools in utter collapse
it's improbable that things can turn around (at least in the western world). We are sliding down a hill
at ever increasing speed and it just gets steeper and steeper.

    Wall Street controls both parties.

Campaign promises are made to be broken.

It doesn't matter a hoot who gets in.

"Gold is money, and nothing else" (JP Morgan, 1912)

"“Those who sacrifice liberty for security/safety deserve neither.“(Benjamin Franklin)

"I only golf on days that end in 'Y'" (DE59)
