Rare 6 Step Jefferson Nickel

I know the date isn't anything special, but according to the Whitman Redbook.....6 steps are rare for this issue.
Is this really the case.......Rare or not?

these are inconsequential and not considered when assigning the designation.
Six Full Steps prior to 1990 is somewhat difficult to find, especially as clean as your coin. i have found many in mid-1980's Mint Sets but they typically have nicks, gouges and bridges. after 1989 the Master Dies were re-worked and subsequent issues had much better detail with the change by PCGS to require all Six Steps for the designation.

the majority of the time just checking the price guides will tell ya what ya want to know about with moderns in relation to potential value. of course following up with active listings and sales/auction
results help to complete the inquiry.

Does PCGS also require Six Steps for FS coins prior to 1990 now?
Just not your typical find.

<< <i>pcgs requires 5 steps for pre 1991 (although I've seen a couple 1991's graded fs by pcgs with only 5 steps). 88-p is pretty tough with 6 steps but not impossibly tough. I think the P's 87,88,89 are a little easier than the D's. 87-p and 89-p are not hard with 6 steps. >>
Thanks for the info AllCoinsRule. That's good to know
