I bought this a while ago because I wanted an example of John Reich's original die work on the Capped Bust half dollar. This is the "50 over 20 C" variety.
This is a Reed Edge half, so it might not count, but this my most recent purchase for this type of coin.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
Thanks, TH. Both the 8/7 and the Reeded Edge (agree with Bill Jones above, may not count) were purchased from Joe Kaminski some years ago. Both fit very well with our eclectic type collection.
<< <i>Since reeded edge halves seem to be allowed, this one is so recently purchased I haven't even gotten it yet ! Anyone want to guess the grade ? >>
I agree. VF, for very fake.
Davignon calls it a 3C, large forehead curl, no scroll "50 cents". Nice one!
Here's a broken 3 from Sheridan Downey last month. Lance.

That is the perfect circulated 1817/3 Tom....
I'll just repost this one from a post on this very same page, since it is my most recent CBH

I started the year with a $1.00 coin and basically have been trading up, to see how far I get by the end of the year.
This was Swap #14. We're currently on Swap #15, and the first gold coin.

No, but that's interesting. Call it the "Needle Nose" variety? A new discovery coin?

Awesome coins everyone. The 1818/7 is one of the coolest I have seen.
