Most of the 1895-O dollars I've seen were dull, and weakly struck in the centers. This one is well struck and looks lustrous in the photo. It does appear to have a rub, which takes it down to AU-58 going by the photos. The Gray Sheet bids are $950 and AU-50 and $12,500 in MS-60. Going by the photos I'd say the value here is a lot closer to $12,500 than $950. It might even get a low Mint State grade and get offered for more than $12.5 grand.
I would not buy this coin from the photo unless it's cheap. It's the kind of item you have to see and then decide how much you want it.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
From the images, I would be in the AU-55+/AU-58 crowd. There was a little group of 1895-O Dollars that came out a few years back. A lot of them looked like this coin......uncirculated reverse with a good strike for the date with that rubbiness/high point friction on the cheeks. Coins in that group graded anywhere from AU-55 to MS-62, depending on the obverse.

Looks AU58 to my eye, plus a nice strike and what seems to be excellent lustre. I've seen low-MS certified examples that made me want to barf. This raw coin makes me want to see it in person.
I do not think the coin circulated. Handled yes,but I think it could grade 62/63 on a good day,58 on a bad day. It will probably end up in a 58 holder after looking at the huge jump in price between AU-58 and 60,but I think it is an unc. coin and I like it.
Listen. Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony. Will’sProoflikes
If the lustre's not f**ked, even with the vertical damage on the jaw, $4000
As close as GTG as I can get. It's hard to believe the two sets of images are of the same coin. I'm going with the brighter of the two. In hand, quien sabe?

Yes it is my friend!! It took a while to load this image....
I like it. I'll WAG at mid AU with semi-PL surfaces.
Too many positive BST transactions with too many members to list.

I hope it is an accurate representation of the actual coin; if so, its a keeper...

Not lower than a 55, but more likely a nice 58.

Better than a 50. Not a 60. So mid-high AU.

<< <i>I could see the coin going either 55 or 60, but not 58. First impression was the surfaces strike me a bit funny. >>
My first impression was 58 details, body bag for altered surfaces
