Nicely Toned Lincoln

I personally think the toning on this coin is beautiful -- and I just got this image back tonight from robec (who totally rocks with coin photography). The surface is a bit rough in places, especially on parts of the obverse with some cheek hits, so I am not sure how (or if) PCGS will grade this. I will find that out in a few weeks.

If thay reward the toning then it could go 65, but strickly speaking its not better than a 64 due to the hits. As I dont do the toned Lincoln thing I'm unsure if the market will reward your high buy price and subsiquent fees to holder with strong money.

Touche! I`ll stick my neck out and say that beauty looks like it has a great shot at holdering... Everything looks correct to me...

The second one is a better coin, but my eye is drawn right to the heavy gash on the jaw as well as the two lines behind the head. It might grade a point higher than the first but neither is in the least exciting for me.

Then why do you slab? I only ask because I too have a large collection of raw coins bought for beauty. I do not plan on slabbing them because in addition to reading the incuse edges (darksides) I enjoy holding them in my hands (with gloves on if the value permits )
