I would assume the easiest way is to do a specific gravity test or otherwise to determine the makeup of the metal although I'm sure the PM buffs here can give you other pointers.

Yup, appears to be the genuine thing. Those old , odd size E. bars go for big bucks. Similarly priced as the old San Francisco Mint bars.
