Looking good with a solid game from Ridley, looks like we found our nich for the running game and the defense looked ok. Granted it was against the Titans but still a nice start to the new Season.

Should be a fun Season
<< <i>They looked pathetic. >>
they looked like the Red Sox
Lets hope Hernandez is going to be OK, Xrays were negative so probably the high ankle sprain that will shelf him for a bit but at least its not a season ending injury.

<< <i>Ugly game today, Im horrified that they lost Hernandez AND the game.

Belichek stated today that he has no update on Hernandez. Is he just being coy as he sometimes is or does this mean that it is more serious than the Patriots would like? >>
No freaking idea, Belichek leaves us loyal fans in the dark too.
because I think their coming!
<< <i>Its a early season test for both teams, If the Ravens offense plays like week one the Patriots may be in for a long night or else I will have no voice for screaming Defense all night long!(plus a few other choice words!). I know this is a Patriots blog so I will restrain my self from saying GO RAVENS! (oh wait I just said it!) >>
Its all good, your well within your rights to root for your team during the pregame banter

I still think NE is the best team in the AFC, even at 1-2.
-Patriots offensive line has some serious problems with holding off the pass rush and creating rushing lanes
-The defensive line is not going to cut it unless it can put some pressure on the QB
-the reason why the DL has to step it up is because the Patrioits' secondary is awful. Seems like a mistake when they defend a pass without a penalty
-coaching has SUCKED. The entire fourth quarter the pulled their playbook from the last two Superbowls...you know the one: let's do what hasn't succeeded for us and see if it works.
-special teams leaving a lot to be desired. Patriots returns of kicks haven't kept pace with what they give up on kick returns.
-dropped passes at clutch time...yeah, they still got some of that going on
so my conclusion: you can't win unless you let the offense do what it does best for 60 minutes...because the defense can really, really suck for most of those sixty minutes.
receivers were not able to hold on to a pass if their life depended on it.
Not a good sign of things to come for the Patriots.

Totally agree.
In fact I have been second guessing Belichek ever since we lost to the Jets 2 years ago in the playoffs, you know when we were down in the 4th quarter and BB would not stop running freaking Danny Woodhead.
Im pi$$ed off. For what its worth the refs have effected every team this year one way or another..

I've thought BB lost his magic when he mailed it in during the first SB loss to the Giants. Didn't use the playbook that had been successful all freakin' year. Why he does this in big games or at important moments of big games, I have no clue. Fear?

My god please dont bring that up!
As far as WHY I dont have a godam clue, call it bad luck, call it the curse of Giselle Bundchen??? Again no freaking clue but something is up.

<< <i>Oh cheer up. Your team lost by last second field goal to a strong team. At least your team didn't lay an egg and lose to a third-rate afterthought team like the Minnesota Vikings like we did. >>
I agree. If the Pats can play that poorly and only lose by 1, I am someone encouraged. If they save their best for the playoffs, then all Pats fans will be happy.

Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde game for the offense and defense. I hope they can remedy the inconsistency

Well I think Barndog posted during the first half
Hopefully that second half worked the last of the kinks out for the Pats.
<< <i>Wow Buffalo really sucks. Lead 21-7 then give up 45 straight points.

If Buffalo really sucks, then BellyChick didn't really accomplish anything by beatng them now did he.

Ah, the moron is back, like an infection that won't go away.
I for one would like to see a barn burner of a game with both Brady and Manning throwing for 400+ yards, multiple touchdowns and Manning throwing a game winning TD as the clock expires in the............................. third overtime
But we didnt
<< <i>A solid effort until the 4th quarter, we seriously could have lost the game.
But we didnt >>
True, hopefully they learn from that. Otherwise, the offense was a thing of beauty thorugh the end of the 3rd quarter, and i doubt any defense can effectively stop them if they execute that running/passing combo the same way in future games.

I hate to say it but my biggest concern is Belichek, for some reason he tends to not dance with who brings him to the dance meaning I think he believes its his coaching and not his players that bring victories. For example Welker got 13 catches yesterday and came up big, now you watch after Welker throughs that playful jab at him next week he will try something else probably like targeting Edelman 15 times and leave Welker out of a bunch of plays or something stupid. Not saying this will happen but in my opinion our biggest issue sometimes is Belichek.
Good win and lets hope we keep it rolling.
If McGahee could hold onto the football, the game might have gone to OT.....but, despite the change in sudden death rules, the regular season games can still end in a tie after 15 minutes of OT.
I'm anxious to see how Seattle's defense does against Brady. I was very pleased with how they handled Rogers, but I still believe Brady is the smarter QB.
<< <i>Perk, I can honestly admit to Tom Brady being in the top 3 QB's to ever play the game, imo. Which is hard for me being a lifelong, die hard Giants fan. I used to actually root for the Pats back in the early 90's. I liked to call them the Giants of the AFC, as they became a "pasture" for a lot of my favorite G-Men. I also love Bill B.! But I think the main reason to write this post was to pour a bit of salt in the wound , only in good fun . A few of my best friends are Big Time Pats fans and boy have the last four years been great for me. I had both SB parties at my house. Went all out for both of them. Had a blast watching the Giants spoil the day for my buds, and the best part was I had already basically decided we were going to get trounced in both games. Gotta love when your favorite team is a huge underdog and comes back in the final minutes, on unreal drives to make history. And I think last year was even more fulfilling for me as a huge Eli fan because he walked the walk and showed the world he IS an elite QB. But don't worry man, if NE can pull off a good second half of the season (which I have no doubt they will), I think they can rest easy as the Giants are notorious for "Sh*ting the bed" (one of my favorite all time sayings, hahaha) every year following a SB win. So good luck this year man!!!!!!! >>
Probably one of the very few posts by a Giants fan that I appreaciate
There is ZERO doubt in my mind that the Eli Manning is an elite QB, not as flashy as some of the big names when talking of "Elite" QB's but a winner.
Im sincerely still upset over the loss in 2007, that one hurt big time because in my opinion that catch that Tyree made was one in a million, basically if Welker made that catch in last years game it would have made up for it because I think that play was almost as hard, Im one of the few Pats fans that put that on Brady NOT Welker, that being said last years Super Bowl really didnt hurt as bad because deep down I thought the Giants would win, in both Super Bowl runs by the Giants they got in by a combination of good play and serious luck, in '07 we deserved to be there but last year we didnt. I think the Pats have a good shot at getting there again this year but too early to tell and a ton of football left to play, if the Giants make it I will fear them regardless of Brady, we just dont match up well against you guys.
Again lots of Football left and ANYTHING can happen, Im just hoping for another shot

Lots of sad bandwagon NE fans walking out of the stadium today. Love it!
