I just added up the face value of my core collection..

and I'm all the way up to $0.82 and that's after 12 years of collecting.
Another 36 coins and I'll have a dollar. Anyone else out there average
less than 7 cents of coins per year ????

1,937 Half Dimes!
I thought I had a lot of Dimes.
I'd write one but there are so very few collectors...

<< <i>Well, I collect another small denomination, and the same concept applies in my case. My reference collection of half dimes currently consists of 1,937 total pieces, for a face value of just $96.85. Since my homeowners insurance covers 'cash' up to $100, I should be okay.
Sounds like you need to be called Kinghalfdime, not Mrhalfdime!
I probably only have 30 or so bust dimes or 3$ face

MR Halfdime is an understatement. You need to be on Hoarders.

You, sir, are the MASTER of the half dime! My hat is off to you!

I have not bothered to add up my other coins...........total value might be in the $50 range.

I am no math major (ok actually i was) but 109 half dimes adds up to $5.45 in my head and not 10.90. Not trying to cut your collection in half
Don't feel bad though as the face value of my core set is $0 considering they demonetized the series. (ignoring the vague coin act of 1965)
So I guess your coins are safe!
Toned quarters $35. Toned halves $50. Toned dimes $14. Toned dollars $80.
and my Morgan 1879 - S which is the only year & mint I collect $77. Then there are
the pedigree or hoard & collection coins $133.15
Ya know, I could tell my wife the face value of the coins rather than what they cost I get
in the mail and maybe she wouldn't mind too much.
Wife says, " and how much was this package? " Me, " O just 6 bucks honey. "
My icon IS my coin. It is a gem 1949 FBL Franklin.
The average face value of each of the 105 coins in the set is 18.2 cents.
