Alright I have to ask..who's on the bandwagon for 'S' mint quarters?

I just need some reassurance that I'm not wasting my money (ha! already beat everyone to it that'll say it is a waste of money!)

I just got a bag of the Hawaii ones because I thought they looked cool, no other bags at this time. No telling if someday a sealed bag of these will be worth more but really the only way your going to get them is thru the mint. Its just like roll searching for me and you never know what you could find in there bags...Enjoy

I am considering it, but am not overly enthusiastic about them. Just a mint gimmick to get money out of collectors.

I think demand will be limited unless spaces for the "S" uncs. are included in ATB albums, rather than just P-D. It would also be helpful if the "S" quarters were included in the annual mint sets, but I don't think they are.

At the moment the circulation-strike "S" quarters are just a curiosity, without a significant collector base.

If these had been issued the first year of the NP series and, as Overdate stated, there were slots in the albums, I would have been interested. Not so much now.

If you're a completist by series, you need them to have a full Washington set.

Thanks to the OP, just did some checking into these. Question: has the Mint offered any explanation why they are minting these, other than to suck money from collectors? It would be one thing if they released these into circulation, but failing that, these just seem like a very strange decision from the Mint. I may pick up a roll here and there, but probably will stay away from them. After years of chasing rolls of low-mintage Kennedys, well, these just don't seem too exciting.

I've been picking up a roll of the ones issued so far....because: a) they will not be in circulation....... b) there is a chance that 2012 might be the only year that the Mint will issue them......... c) I got bored & did some impulse buying of Mint products, normally not in favor with numismatist's.
