Can't believe I turned any of this down, but proud of myself that I fought the addition.. Was selectively looking for bars or poured bars, that might have some extra premium value to them (need an equivalent word to numismatic).. ASE at $2 above, not bad. But having paid $29.5 a short while ago, it helped me fight the erge. A bit higher and I'll try to sell some random stuff..
These tubes had orange caps at either end, so I don't know if its a hardware/screw tube from Home Depot or some specific dealers?.
btw: I still think silver will return more than gold so worth the purchase risk now. Gold is too high now for general buying for my balance.

I can't believe it either. Like looking a gift horse in the mouth. Some one once said, an "educated consumer is our best customer," and you, in my opinion ... flunked.
<< <i>I remember I saw orange tubes dated 1987. Was that instead used only in 1986? >>
I have seen 1987 ASEs for sale in orange tubes and in the newer green tubes. Not sure if orange was used in 1987, mabe even a change mid-year. I suspect they were only used by the US Mint in 1986. Be aware that there are also aftermarket empty ASE tubes with orange caps.
