When will you sell?

For Holders, with this slow creep-back possibility, have you considered a sell point threshold?

(Back when Silver creeped down to tickle $26, there was discussion of when to start buying.)

I sell only when I need cash. My stack is my savings account. Liquidation in a bear market is a ways down the road.

    I buy when prices dip.

Earlier this year I said I will sell a good chunk if it ever hit $35 again, then wait to see what it does. Of course, I have a little one on the way at the end of this year so I might have to trade my PM's (precious metals) for PM's (precious milk).

I sell only when I need cash. Ditto.

My stack is my savings account. Ditto.

Liquidation in a bear market is a ways down the road. Ditto, and it will occur at some point. Precious Metals are not a permanent hold.

I buy when prices dip. A slight divergence - I don't time my purchases, other than to wait until there is too much cash sitting in an account that isn't earmarked for something else.

  • I sell when I need cash or when I can make a nice profit.
I too consider my (little) stack as a savings account.

I buy when I feel like buying and have some cash.

Unless there is a financial emergency, probably never.

DerryB ! I believe your'e getting to know the way I think. $100.00 may be a great buy on the way to $150+. When I finish kicking myself around after selling the last 1/4 at $80, $100.00 just might be my new buy in point.

I sell (offer to sell is a better way of saying it) when I can make the pre-determined profit percentage I have set for myself.

I also sell if I get bored with an item and see something else I'd like to own. Some may perceive that as flipping, but in reality it is not, because I am selling to buy something that I want.

    2020

That is the year I plan to retire.

I expect to slowly liquidate at that point. My expectation is that silver will be substantially higher than $32 at that point.

I buy and sell daily and dont hold squat,

But 90% of our customer base stated they are selling at 40.
  • I just sold 5k worth tonight to APMEX, so go ahead and make a major purchase tomorrow, because it's sure to hit 40 any day now.

I sell when I can make a 50%-75% profit and started to do so last Sat. I'm still sitting on several hundred oz of pre $20 silver & considerable pre $900 gold. I stopped buying when gold got up to $1650 & silver to $36. Gonna take a while for that portion to hit my selling requirements. PM's are just another commodity to me to augment my retirement income.
