Gold plating - how do I gold plate coins?

I am not sure if this is the correcto forum but I thought I would ask.

I have a few minor coins and medals that I would like to have plated. Who should I contact?

Why would you consider that option in the first place. Once your items are gp, they loose their numismatic value and in addition, probably decrease their value if they are made of silver.
I have no idea who would do that on a retail basis.

Check your local phone directory for plating shops. Since you would be dealing with hazardous solutions and hazardous waste issues, I'd recommend against doing it yourself.

    Aqua Regia & a half-cell. No thanks.

This is mostly for medals and like junk 90% silver so any numismatic value is already gone and the silver is it.

Trust me I am the last person who would do this to a "real" coin.

Pretty easy to find an inexpensive gold plater. Call automobile customizing shops in your area and see who they give emblems to for gold plating. A lot of people bought those cheap Eastwood plating kits and leave a B. card at all shops in the area thinking they will get business and my guess is $8-$10 or less per coin, depending on quantity. In quantity, I would guess a couple of bucks per unit.
    Have a nice day
