Sept 2nd & 3rd - 5 more silvers, 4 IHCs, couple other goodies

PPC's comment about hitting 100 silvers really got me wondering if it could be possible. Never came anywhere close in a year. After thinking about it, it would be a neat goal to hit.

Got out yesterday to the FE cent field... only found one 1880 IHC and a war nickel - some other various junk jewelry. Boy that bracelet looked good coming out. After scraping it some, the gold started flaking off. What a heartbreaker. Any idea on that little lock too? Looks like "LH Co"? I don't see a key hole, but it's pretty corroded. Function/age?

Today I hit an area I got permission to hunt, and also an area near where the old gold signet came from, etc. Started slow, but ended with 4 silvers! Up to 85 now!

Today's haul is:

1859 Canadian Cent
3 IHCs - 1909, 1903?, 1860s Fatty (dateless)
3 wheats - 1941, 1941, 1909
1906 V Nickel
1943-D, 1943-P Wartime Nickels
1941, 1942 Mercs
P&F Corbin Key (looks older)
Older button

Also hit the $200 mark in change face value. That's a new one-year record as well.

Very nice! Do we count the war nickels as silver? If so, I need to go back and amend my yearly silver count, as I found my first one last week.

    Continued luck!

Heck yes war nickels count as silver! I equate it to 10k gold... even though 10k is 41.7% gold, that still counts. War nickels aren't much off with 35%
