old gold in creek

my first successful hunt in the last 30 days. worked a creek area today, where town used to exist from the 1880's. no longer inhabited, all that remains are rock walls, old bridges and various concrete structures. there were almost no signals out there. many people have here before me. only good find was this 17k ring. its hand carved with flowers and a red stone.

"My only good find was this 17K ring". I wish that was my only good find. Was it in the water or along the bank?

Demo, that thing is sweet looking. Do you have any close-up images? for 17k, I would think it has British hallmarks? Congrats on your old gold - it's such a thrill seeing any gold, and especialy old gold.

    17K??

Probably an English 15K ring. (or the more common 14K or 18K).

I've never heard of any country stamping their gold 17K.
