I usually dont encourage rude insults myselfimage, looks like a nice grouping. The 16-d looks fairly weakly struck but having not studied the series I going to assume that its common for that date/mm. Seems to be some cool clashing on the 1914 obv, how much do you think that will that affect the grade?

    Very nice.

    13 T1
First thought was 64, but coin seems to have a little extra luster. Might go 65

    1914
First thought was 66, but if that is a light scratch running across the cheek and braid, might only go 65

    1916
I think 66 on this one. Fields are very smooth, lettering and date struck up nicely. Strike overall is very nice.

    1916-D
Very interesting coin. Tough to grade from images. Definitely LDS. Weak strike, die erosion and color seems a bit off. If I were to venture a grade, I'd guess 63. If there is any wear hiding though 58.

    Thanks for posting!

I really like the look of the 16 D, lots of die errosion adding lots of texture to the fields and devices. My guess is they gave it a 64 for missing detail.

Like the chin whiskers (die clash) on the 1914 and 1916 -- they are really pronounced on the 1914, with other evidence of clashing on both obverse and reverse. A very cool feature on some Buffalos -- let us know how your grades turn out.

  • I send these off tomorrow for economy level grading, so I'll check back in a few months to let you know what the results are image

My guesses (of course I have the benefit of having them in hand)

1913: would be elated with a 65, but will likely be a 64 or 63. Reason is there are a number of ticks in obvious spots that aren't apparent in the photo. Hoping the luster and attractive toning bump it.
1914: seems on par with 65 to me
1916: likely a 65 here- the mark in the obverse in front of the nose is actually an unpolished die clash. The tick in the top reverse is not lol.
1916D: has the look of a 62 for die erosion and lack of booming luster

Now take off a point from each of those for ownership and I think we have feasible grades image
  • Very nice newps. My guess on grades: 64, 65, 64, 63

And one more salient point to remember.

I agree- I think they might have been a bit stiff on the 1914 and 1916, but I like the coins no matter what the holder says image
