Another scarce old poured bar on ebay

Maybe I should not say "scarce" since 4 oz Engelhard poured bars are suddenly coming out of the woodwork. Here's the latest.
Engelhard 4 oz on ebay
It looks like $2,000 has become the new minimum expectation.
Unlike the other bars this one is a bit later. For those who collect by type, the Engelhard logo on this one is in the center of the bar and not the top.

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......

Anybody keeping track to see if all the new ones have the same serial number???
Or is it opportunity if in fact the previous auctions were legit. I know if I had one, i'd be breaking my fingers typing so fast trying to get it listed asap.
the other 2 started at .99, starting at $2000 i think is a big mistake, a scared seller for sure...
Could use the $2000.00 else where !!!
You wouldn't win anyway, apparently it's going to take mid $3k's to take one down now

highly unlikely, this might get 1 bidder if any, the 4 digit was the rarer bar and got the big pop, this one wont...
edit: my official prediction, no buyer...lol...serial to high...

That is a great idea Capt.
I guess one would have to pay close detail to dimention, surface textures and stamp size and document it accordingly
It's all about what the people want...

They may have desire and collector value, but if this is a entirely new range, the buyers may be the last ones owning them.

Oh No, there's always gotta be some one to show up to the party and cry parabolic, parabolic, parabolic !!!! (maybe this is the 3,000 dow in 1987 on its way to 12,000 in 2000)
This price increases seems to have been developing over a 5-7 year period (just an estimate)

It's human nature. Most of the time it's made by those that did not participate in the run up or are not in the game. MJ

Yeah, there is something about all this that reminds me of the 'Billy Beer' fantasia of an earlier era.

Few have appeared on ebay in the last 20 months. In 2011 $600-700 was a surprising price. In 2012 we are seeing $2,000 on a regular basis. There is your progression.
It is safe to say these bars are being acquired by strong hands.

SB's summaries are still required reading for bar collectors.
The chapter posted was from August 2010. Many more bar collectors have appeared since then.
