Went out at lunch today, for a few surprises (see bottom).
Pawn shop:
-Got 4 ASE's for $30. Reasonable condition
Local B+M:
-Generic AirForce Round (finally one for the stepdaughter in airforce) $30
-Coast Guard round - $30
-Thomas Jefferson (480 grains) - $30
-2004 Sealed Xmas bar - $30
-Madison Mint 1977 birthday 1oz $30

- Madison Mint Bar Mitzvah 76-77 - 1oz $30 (on ebay from $41 to $117)
- 'Proof Looking ASE' in airtite, no mintmark for $30 (seems to be a proof)
- 20grams!-- Madison Mint Smoky Mountain Ingot 1974 (lot of 3000) -$30 (I could bring it back, but I like the oddity, and the dealer. I'll just tell the B+M owner it wasn't a full oz)

Yesterday I picked up 15 uncirculated ASE's from a dealer's "anything $30" case at the ANA show.

1987, 1989 (2), 1990 (3), 1991 (2) , 1993, 1995, 2001 (2), 2003 (2), 2004

Most everyone else wanted $31 each or more.

I think I know what bar you are talking about. I believe that Silver Lode Bonanza silver art bar was minted in 1973 by the Colonial Mint and the reverse side of that bar has an odd-shaped indention if it is the bar that I am thinking of. The "Madonna and child" is also a Colonial Mint bar and, like the Silver Lode Bonanza bar, the Madonna bar also has an odd-shaped indention on the reverse side of that bar. Congrats on your finds.

You may have hit an ace with your (correct spelling) Deak Perera bar. Some are selling for substantially more then spot.

While trying to fight my addiction and stick to the plan of holding and not buying, I had to at least go look.
(But really, the plan includes nice exceptions that will return nice later on, so...)

- 6, 1990 Silver Maple set in the plastic (a set that will stay that way until it sells), and
- 1 10z, wide Engelhard 10oz'er.

$195 and $314 respectively.

Likely overpaid %20 on 2, -96 ASE's today at a new local jewerly/silver B&M. Needed to complete sets.
Remember someone saying, they'd rather spend money on coins if they liked what the got, because they could have spent the money on something else and never come close to reselling for near its original price.
