I knew it would happen.

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......

<< <i>The OP asked about "your favorite modern coin design". Are the UHR and the Indian/buffao designs truly modern designs or are they copies of century old designs? >>
Good point. Anyhow, I think the UHR is one the most beautiful coin ever minted.
And I love the gold buffalo too.
When does the modern era starts for you americans?! j/k
I am a part of the "huddled masses" and, luckily, still a tourist! So I had to pick Lady Liberty.

The 1907 high relief it was modeled after is twice as beautiful. If you ever get a chance to see a high grade one in hand, you will agree.

I have seen them, not in hand but close enough. I partially agree with you derryb, I say partially because the UHR has a better condition and smoother edges. It just appears nicer to me. (I am not taking the history of the 1907 into consideration of course).
Another reason is that I can own a UHR! (like the fox that dislikes the grapes because she's not able to get them)

<< <i>UHR is a more "perfect" coin thanks to technology. >>
That's what I meant. I'd choose the 1907 of course but the 2009 is better
looking, imo.
<< <i>I like the original UHR coin, the new one is the size of an eagle, not a double eagle. That said, I love both coins! >>
I only have pics (obviously) but if I remember correctly, the size of the original 1907 is smaller than a double eagle.
That said, I love both coins too!

Admission to the Smithsonian Museum is free, and they have a great HR on display in addition to the 1933
Here's another modern design that I love ...
