Thanks!

Posted this over in the Precious Metals forums BST posting last night, but thought I'd try here on the BST too...
Have a cousin who got hurt pretty bad in an IED attack over in Afghanistan last week. Thank God we didn't lose him, but it looks like it is going to be a long road ahead for recovery. My Mom FedExed me some of her old jewelry to sell in order to raise some extra funds for his wife and five kids. I don't have much experience w/ scrap jewelry so I was pretty shocked at the wide variety of quotes I got from local jewelry shops and coin shops when asking what they paid per gram of 14K gold... WOW! Figured I'd see if there were any buyers here first before going any further with local B&M shops.
All of the jewelry is wearable, but just older stuff that Mom doesn't use. No stones at all in this stuff.
75.7 grams in total is marked 14K, some earrings, some bracelets, a couple of chains too
6.0 grams is marked 18K, a pair of asian earrings
5.0 grams is marked 12K, a bracelet
17.0 grams in total doesn't seem to be marked, but Mom insists these three pairs of earrings are each at least 14K
In total, there is 103.7 grams of jewelry here and assuming Mom is correct on that last 17.0 grams being at least 14K, there is roughly $3161 worth of gold here with spot at $1610 per ounce.
Anyone willing to pay close to the gold value for this lot?? I don't have a testing kit, so if that 17.0 grams of unmarked turns out to be less than 14K I'd of course accept returns on that, or partial refund... wonder if I'd get told if it tested as 18K though????
Will also take any referrals for best places to sell in SoCal if no one here wants the group.
Will post pics of the group if needed, thank you in advance for your help with this.
Here's the pics:

Also, here is an article on my cousin from his local newspaper...
